Our Commitment
Our Commitment
At Big Heart Homes Inc., we are guided by a deep commitment to the well-being, safety, and cultural identity of the children and youth in our care. Our goal is to create lasting connections, nurture belonging, and empower young people to thrive within their families and communities.
We believe every child deserves stability, love, and opportunity — and we hold ourselves to the highest standards to make that a reality every day.

Permanence
We believe that every child deserves a sense of home and belonging.
Our goal is to ensure that every youth in our care builds meaningful, lasting connections with caring adults, family members, and positive peers.
Through consistency, compassion, and mentorship, we help youth develop the skills to become responsible, respectful, and contributing members of their communities.
We recognize that true permanence comes not only from a stable home, but from relationships rooted in trust and love — and we are dedicated to fostering those bonds.

Family and Community Support
Family and community are at the heart of everything we do.
Our programs are designed to help youth stay connected to their families, culture, and communities, no matter where they are on their journey.
We encourage every young person to explore and strengthen their identity through Elder support, cultural teachings, and community participation.
Youth are supported in attending Powwows, Sweats, Sharing Circles, and other traditional ceremonies, guided by an Aboriginal Resource Coordinator and a team of culturally knowledgeable staff who help nurture pride, understanding, and connection.
By embracing culture and tradition, we help youth find strength in who they are and where they come from.

Safety
The safety and well-being of our youth are our highest priorities.
We are committed to providing an environment where every child feels protected, respected, and valued.
Our staff are trained to maintain the highest standards of care, ensuring that physical, emotional, and cultural safety are always upheld.
Families, social workers, and community partners can trust that when they choose Big Heart Homes Inc., they are choosing quality, accountability, and compassion.
Safety is not just a policy — it is the foundation of everything we do.

Well-Being
We are deeply committed to enhancing the overall well-being of every child, youth, and family we support.
Our focus extends beyond day-to-day care to include education, life skills, emotional growth, and social development.
We work closely with each individual to help them build confidence, improve school performance, and prepare for independence.
By nurturing both the heart and the mind, we help youth create a foundation for lifelong success and fulfillment.

Our Beliefs
We believe in the preservation of family unity and the strength and integrity of the individual as essential building blocks of healing and growth.
Families, in all their forms, are the foundation of support and advocacy — and we are committed to walking alongside them with respect and understanding.
Our work is guided by the belief that when children are surrounded by love, culture, and community, they can overcome challenges and reach their true potential.
